disclaimer
the contents of this site were prepared with the greatest care. we cannot, however, guarantee that they are correct, complete or up to date.
liability for links
this site contains links to external websites over whose contents we have no influence. responsibility for the contents of a linked site always rests with its provider or operator. checking linked sites permanently, without a concrete indication that the law has been broken, is not reasonable. should we learn of such a breach, we will remove the link without delay.
note on affiliate links
this website may contain partner links marked with an asterisk (*). if you buy something through such a link, we receive a small commission — at no additional cost to you. we only recommend what we consider worthwhile ourselves.
privacy
this information applies to the website diceblock.app (and its german edition würfelblock.de) as well as to the „würfelblock" app for iphone and ipad. where the two differ, it is said in the section itself.
1. general
protecting your data matters to us. below we set out which data is collected when you use the site or the app, and how it is processed. neither the website nor the app collects personal data beyond what is technically necessary. there is no user account, no sign-in and no registration — neither in the browser nor in the app.
2. web analytics with matomo (website only)
the website uses matomo, self-hosted open-source analytics software. matomo runs on our own server — your data is not passed on to third parties.
matomo is operated in a privacy-friendly configuration:
- no tracking cookies
- ip anonymisation (the last two octets of the ip address are removed before storage)
- the browser's „do not track" signal is respected
- nothing is passed on to third parties
the data collected (e.g. pages visited, approximate location, browser type) serves solely anonymous statistical evaluation and the improvement of the service. identifying an individual person is not possible. the legal basis is art. 6 (1) (f) gdpr (legitimate interest in analysing usage without reference to a person).
the app contains no matomo and no other analytics or tracking software. it measures nothing and reports nothing.
3. the scorecard on your device
the scorecard — the scores you enter, the player names you choose, the game mode — stays on your device and does not leave it, as long as you do not share a game.
- in the browser in local storage. you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
- in the app in the app's own storage. it also keeps the list of finished games shown on the „results" tab: mode, date, names and scores, at most one hundred entries. the list can be deleted from the app's menu, and it disappears entirely if you delete the app.
neither one is transmitted to us.
4. a shared game
when you share a game — „invite" in the browser, „shared game" in the app — the current scorecard is stored on our server and kept in sync with the other participants. in that case:
- the scorecard is stored under a random four-character code
- what is stored is exclusively scores, game mode and the player names you chose
- together with a random identifier per device, so that the round knows how many are watching. the device makes it up itself, it contains no device or personal data, and it is deleted with the round
- the files are deleted automatically after 24 hours at the latest
- the feature is voluntary; without it nothing leaves your device
whoever knows the four-character code can see the scorecard. so pass it on only if the names on it are meant for the recipients. the legal basis is art. 6 (1) (b) gdpr (providing the feature you asked for).
5. camera (app only)
the app asks for access to the camera when you want to scan the qr code of a shared game. the image is evaluated on the device alone, in order to read the four characters of the code. it is not stored, not used for anything else and not transmitted anywhere. if you decline, you type the code instead — the app keeps working in full.
6. app store and testflight (app only)
the app is distributed by apple. when you download it from the app store or from testflight, apple processes data under its own responsibility; we have no influence on that. apple's privacy policy applies.
if you send us feedback through testflight, apple also transmits information about your device and, if you choose to attach one, a screenshot. the same applies to crash reports, provided you have agreed in your device settings to share analytics data with developers. both reach us without your name.
7. nothing is passed on to third parties
no user data is passed on to third parties, sold, or used for advertising. the app contains no advertising, no purchases and no third-party libraries.
8. your rights
you have the right to information, correction, deletion and restriction of processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. since we do not collect data that can be attributed to a person, providing information in the classic sense is not possible. we delete a shared scorecard immediately on request — just tell us the four-character code. if you have questions, write to: wuerfelblock@martindellert.de
the german version prevails
this page is a translation, provided so that you can read what applies. the operator is based in germany, and german law governs: in case of doubt or of any difference in wording, the german version is the binding one.
